Why regional fit matters

Global software should not erase local operating reality.

Canadian operations may share one technology platform while still needing province-specific tax treatment, English and French content, and customer or product traceability rules.

A common operating model that respects provincial differences, bilingual information and regulated product evidence.

01Language

The user should understand the next action.

Configure practical labels, terminology and documents for the people, customers and authorities involved.

02Tax & commercial

One charge may need several local dimensions.

Retain the event, customer, service, location, tax and exemption context needed by connected finance systems.

03Regulation

Compliance starts with dependable evidence.

Capture identity, movement, condition, approval and timestamp data where the physical work happens.

04Integration

Local platforms must remain connected.

Exchange trusted data with ERP, finance, e-invoicing, trade, carrier and customer systems through suitable interfaces.

Canada requirements

Configure the differences that change how work is executed and recorded.

These examples define the discovery conversation. Exact legal, tax and document obligations are confirmed with the customer and its local advisers during implementation.

01HST workflows

Ontario & Atlantic Canada

Preserve the place and basis of every commercial event.

Record customer, ship-to location, service, charge event and tax classification so finance receives the right operational context.

  • Province and place-of-supply dimensions
  • Customer and service classifications
  • Finance-system integration
02Language & QST

Québec

Design bilingual work and customer information from the beginning.

Configure English and French labels, operational documents and customer-facing outputs alongside GST and QST-related commercial data.

  • English and French terminology
  • Label and document variants
  • GST/QST data handoff
03GST/PST

British Columbia & Prairies

Support provincial tax differences without splitting the operation.

Keep site, customer, item, service and destination dimensions available for the appropriate GST and provincial sales-tax processes.

  • GST and PST dimensions
  • Interprovincial fulfilment context
  • Consistent national reporting
04SFCR traceability

Food supply chains

Make supplier, lot and customer movement records easy to retrieve.

Build the operational capture points needed for one-step-back and one-step-forward traceability where the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations apply.

  • Lot or unique identifier
  • Supplier and customer movement history
  • Recall-ready reporting

Cloud, Auto-ID, IoT & integration

Use the right capture method. Keep one trusted operational record.

Flatorb combines cloud software with RFID, QR codes, barcodes, IoT, GPS, AI and systems integration according to the workflow and return on investment—not a technology trend.

  • RFID for automated or high-volume identification where the read environment supports it
  • QR and barcodes for deliberate, economical transaction capture
  • IoT and GPS for condition, state and location events
  • APIs, EDI and files for customer, finance, trade and enterprise integration

International implementation

Most projects can be delivered online. On-site support remains available.

Remote-first does not mean generic. Discovery, design, configuration, testing, training and support are structured around the target countries and sites. Flatorb can send personnel when the customer prefers in-person delivery or the physical work requires it.

  2. 02Design locallyConfigure each country, entity, customer and site without losing a common regional control model.
  3. 03Prove remotelyTest real transactions, exceptions, reports and integrations with users before the broader rollout.

Canada software questions

Practical answers for a regional evaluation.

The right scope depends on countries, entities, sites, customers, tax models, languages, devices and connected systems.

01Can Flatorb support English and French?+

Yes. Operational labels, selected screens, documents and customer outputs can be configured around the language requirements of the implementation. The exact bilingual scope is agreed during discovery.

02Can the platform handle GST, HST, PST and QST differences?+

Flatorb can retain the province, customer, item, service, destination and charge data required by connected tax and finance processes. Final tax rules and outputs are validated with the customer and its tax advisers.

03Can Flatorb support Canadian food traceability?+

Yes. Where applicable, workflows can capture product identity, lot or unique identifiers, supplier receipts, customer shipments and dates so required traceability records can be retrieved quickly.

04Is Flatorb cloud based?+

Yes. Flatorb solutions are cloud based and can connect users, sites, customers and management teams through role-controlled access. Device, network and integration architecture is confirmed for the operating environment.

05Does every implementation require RFID?+

No. RFID, QR codes, barcodes and IoT are selected according to the physical event, volume, environment and return on investment. Many workflows use more than one capture method.

06Can Flatorb provide on-site implementation in Canada?+

Yes. Most discovery, design, configuration, testing, training and support can be delivered fully online. When a customer prefers on-site assistance—or physical assessment, installation and commissioning require it—Flatorb can arrange personnel to travel.
